Case review run by Dr Tom Johnson, includes a patient with pre stenting with DES & BMS and restenosis. Review of the whole pullback showing ISR, neoatheroma, microvessels, lipid necrotic core and plaque rupture with thrombotic material at the occlusion site with macrophages. Stent invagination highlighted with OFDI. Second case illustrates the ability of OFDI to detect the media and intima bands of the coronary artery because of the high resolution. Thick cap fibroatheroma visualisation and identification of artefacts that can occur with OFDI.
This imaging workshop is targeted at interventional cardiologists and also at other cardiologists wishing to update their scientific knowledge on the topic.
Unrestricted educational grant from Terumo Europe, Interventional Systems
OFDI/OCT is becoming more and more prevalent in day-to-day clinical practice, with the advent of more clinical data providing us with greater insight as to where the clinician should be using this imaging modality. The OFDI workshop provides all you need to know to understand the basics of coronary imaging and what you need to do to implement it within the cath lab.
